Meet The Organizer and the Eagle Scout Candidate
Branden Kelledy
Biography
Hello and let me welcome you to Operation Give Back's website run by me Branden. I am currently 17 years old and a Senior at Sachem North High School. Currently I am a Life Scout working on my Eagle Scout rank. I am also an avid Wildlife Photographer.
My Scouting career started when I was 6 years old in 1st grade. When I was in Cub Scouts I was apart of Pack 91 from Ronkonkoma. By the end of 5th grade when I crossed over into the Boy Scouts, I entered into Troop 111 from Nesconset. For the past 7 years I have been a active member of the troop.
During all my years in the Boy Scouts, I have been involved with numerous hikes and camping trips. My Troop has also participated in many community service projects in our local area. Some of the community service projects that we have participated in are: Ovarian Cancer Walks, Memorial Blood Drives at the Commack Fire Department for a fallen SCPD officer, and a 5K for Cystic Fibrosis. All of which helped enrich my years in Scouting.
I have been a photographer for 5 years now. About 2 years into my photography journey I started to take pictures of wildlife. Wildlife photography really attracted me as I am someone who loves animals and spending time outdoors. For the last 3 years I have been a wildlife photographer in training. I say this because there is always something you can learn whether it be a behavior of a fox, a call of a bird or even learning new tricks and skills with taking the photo. I hope to further my skills as a photographer in the coming years.
What does Operation Give Back mean to me?
Operation Give Back is near and dear to my heart as I have spent many weeks and multiple holidays in Stony Book Children's Hospital. The work done by Child Life is outstanding. Their Child Life Department is an indispensable part of the pediatric care team.
